New Vape rules
The Federal Government is changing the rules for vapers.
1 January 2024: the importation of disposable vapes was banned.
1 March 2024: the importation of all vapes was banned, including with a prescription.
21 March 2024: the government introduced a bill to limit the sale of vapes to people with a prescription, only from pharmacies.
These rules are out of step with countries like the US, New Zealand and the UK.
Each of these countries has a strictly regulated retail market, which has contributed to dropping youth vaping rates.
The government is doubling down on failed vape policies that publish legal vapers and fail to address the black market.
Australians deserve better vaping laws.
We need a law that lets adults purchase a well-regulated vaping product from a responsible retailer and ends the black market once and for all.
